Mugarura Shawn Nicholas

Mugarura is a skilled communications professional, His portrait titled “The three Emergencies” won first place at the 2021 Kampala Geopolitics Photo competition. He also earned a global photography nomination at the Global Landscapes forum Photo competition. He is very passionate about social justice and the holistic realization of the SDGs.
Mugarura brings in over five years of extensive communications experience and knowledge about designing and implementation of communications strategy. He has advanced knowledge in audio-visual and written documentation of success stories that demonstrate the impact of project interventions, maintaining web content, executing social media strategies and creating communications materials like the news letters. He has a vast network of contacts in Ugandan digital and traditional media.
Mugarura works as a communications officer at CAFOMI he has volunteered twice with The United Nations Volunteers (online) through Association of African Entrepreneurs (AAE) and Cameroon Association of Active Youths (CAMAAY). He obtained a Bachelors’ Degree in Mass communications at Uganda Christian University in Uganda and has been trained at the Aga Khan University, Graduate school of Media and Communications in engaging the media and Reuters in digital Journalism.
