Position: Chief Agency Officer

We currently have an exciting career opportunity for the role of Chief Agency Officer, Jubilee Life Insurance, Uganda.

The position holder will report to the Chief Executive Officer.

Main Responsibilities

Strategy

  1. Translate strategy into actionable growth steps.
  2. Set, implement, and communicate the agency’s operational and sales direction.
  3. Align departmental strategies with Board-approved budgets.
  4. Encourage the adoption of industry trends and technologies.

Sales

  1. Collaborate with Marketing to penetrate key markets.
  2. Define strategies for new business sales and account retention.
  3. Create a sales and distribution plan to maximize opportunities.
  4. Foster positive relationships with major customers and support key account proposals.

Operations

  1. Develop sales & distribution policies that enhance performance and culture.
  2. Identify ways to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  3. Implement appropriate risk management strategies.
  4. Maintain productivity and quality standards via audits and reviews.

Compliance

  1. Ensure adherence to insurance-related statutory and regulatory requirements (e.g., Treating Customers Fairly, Data Protection, Anti-Money Laundering).
  2. Comply with company policies, and statutory reporting requirements.
  3. Ensure adherence to underwriting limits, policies, and processes.

Leadership and People

  1. Provide transformational leadership to exceed stakeholder expectations.
  2. Build departmental capacity through leadership and evaluation.
  3. Ensure team development and succession planning.

Academic Qualifications

  1. Master’s in business administration,
  2. Strategy, Finance or any other related course
  3. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Related fields

Professional Qualifications

1. DIU/LOMA/ACIl Qualification or equivalent

Relevant Experience

  1. Minimum of 15 years of experience in Sales/Business Development.
  2. Have experience in operating in complex business environments and/ or regulated sectors and have the personal qualities to develop strong stakeholder relationships.
  3. Demonstrate ‘best in class’ knowledge of technology, change, process improvement and operational management in relevant businesses.
