Job SummaryThe Medical Officer will ensure the delivery of quality HIV/AIDS care and treatment services to clients by providing technical and leadership support to health facility teams.
Responsibilities and duties1.      In Liaison with the HIV/TB Technical Officer, He/She will oversee and supervise the clinic, including appraisals and timesheets. 

2.      Draw and implement medical clinic schedules, work plans, and documentation of best practices and lessons learned on specific program indicators and projects.

3.      100% data collection and entry into open EMR, files, and registers under clinic as guided by project requirements.

4.      Health awareness to clients on HIV/AIDS and non-communicable diseases to ROM clients, ROM staff, and being involved in home and hospital visits.

5.      Supervise and mentor subordinates through holding and documenting surge meetings with follow-up with responsible staff for effective implementation.

6.      Participate in CME and training schedules in consultation with the HR office, build staff capacity under your supervision, and ensure timely appraisals.

7.      Ensure timely preparation and submission of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and provide appropriate narratives of these reports with timely responses to data calls.

8.      Work closely with the HIV/TB Technical Officer in the implementation project activities, development, and revision of various clinical guidelines and SOPs.

9.      Execute SOPs, internal, donor, and government guidelines, and data standards to guarantee data quality control and data management compliance.

10.   Collaborate with other internal stakeholders especially monitoring and evaluation, community and social support departments.

11.   Support and observe the safeguarding culture in the organisation regularly documenting and reporting identified and safeguarding issues to the HR.

12.   Ensure health, safety, and security in the area of operation, as I promote the vision, mission, and values of Reach Out Mbuya.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery Degree
  • Full and active registration with the UMDPC
  • Experience and up-to-date technical knowledge of HIV/AIDS clinical care and ART
  • Additional training in HIV/AIDS care and opportunistic infections

Skills and Abilities:

  • Good communication, organization, and management skills.
  • Understands client confidentiality and exhibits a high level of ethical conduct.
  • Has basic computer literacy including word processing, excel, internet, and PowerPoint.
