Role Overview
The Communications Associate will support the growth and effectiveness of our digital
communications initiatives.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining strategic thinking with practical execution,
helping manage digital platforms, create engaging content, coordinate campaigns and support
client and team communications.
You will work closely with the Digital Lead to deliver consistent, quality outputs, while helping
build internal capacity and improve processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Digital Strategy & Platforms
● Support the creation and execution of digital strategies.
● Manage and optimize social media channels and website content.
● Assist in creating content calendars, scheduling campaigns and tracking digital
performance.
● Analyse engagement and performance metrics to improve reach and impact.
● Maintain organized archives of reports, media materials and image banks.
● Support real-time event coverage. - Content Creation & Campaign Support
● Craft, edit and publish content across platforms, including blogs, newsletters and social
media.
● Collaborate with creators on multimedia content and assets.
● Ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines, strategy, tone and messaging. - Client & Stakeholder Engagement
● Support client account management, including regular updating, reporting and project
coordination.
● Serve as a point of contact for client and community stakeholders.
● Assist in building and maintaining strong relationships with collaborators and community
members. - Media Monitoring & Engagement
● Track regular media coverage and support the preparation of weekly and monthly media reports. - Events, Logistics & Coordination
● Support event planning, logistics, and on-site coordination.
● Draft event briefs and post-event summaries capturing highlights, outcomes and lessons.
● Coordinate media attendance, documentation and post-event content sharing.

● Confident communicator with strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
● Discreet and professional when handling client information.
● Proactive, resourceful, and flexible — ready to “fill gaps” and make things happen.
● Passionate about content creation and community initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
● 1–3 years of relevant communications experience, preferably in an agency or
development setting.
● Demonstrated experience in content writing, digital media, or event documentation.
● Familiarity with digital platforms (Mailchimp, Brevo, Brand24, Google Workspace, social
media scheduling tools).
Reporting & Collaboration
● Reports to the Digital Lead – Content & Creator Strategy.
● Works closely with the creative and video teams.
● Provides weekly progress updates, contributes to monthly media and activity reports, and
maintains trackers for all deliverables.
Performance Indicators
● Digital platforms performance.
