Job Description

JOB ROLE/ PURPOSE: 

Monitor the maintenance of assigned URA vehicles and transport official passengers and items to support business operations in the Authority.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Provide Transport and logistical services to URA staff and Officials to facilitate smooth flow of business operations

a) Drive URA staff and officials to meetings, field missions, and other destinations as may be requested from time to time.

b) Collect and deliver mail, packages, and equipment to assigned destinations

c) Maintain records and account for all deliveries and distributions

d) Advise passengers on basic safety precautions before and during the journey

e) Restrict admission of non-authorized passengers to the URA vehicle

f) Maintain record of travel appointments and airport pick-ups for Staff and officials, daily mileage and fuel consumption

2. Keep the vehicle in good mechanical and hygienic condition to ensure the safety and health of the passengers.

a) Arrange for regular maintenance and ensure that the vehicle is kept clean and in good running condition at all times

b)  Keep track of the renewal of required documents including vehicle insurance, and registration logs.

c) Take the necessary steps required by the rules and regulations in the event of an accident involving the office vehicle

d) Identify a safe place to park the vehicle by closure of business

e) Carry out periodic checks on the assigned vehicle to determine maintenance needs and report accordingly and time

Qualifications

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

Essential Requirements

a) A minimum of O’ Level Certificate and a maximum of a Diploma.

b) A valid driving permit with at least class B

c) At least three (3) years of driving experience in a reputable organization.

d) An impeccable record of integrity. 

Desirable Requirements

a) Certificate in Defensive Driving

b) Specialized training in basic automobile mechanics

Knowledge

a) Knowledge of the Traffic and Road Safety Act, Fleet management policy

SPECIAL SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

a) The incumbent must have excellent interpersonal skills and customer care

b) S/he should have the ability to multi-task

c) The incumbent should have Integrity &Confidentiality

d) S/he must have good communication skills

e) The incumbent should be an excellent time-manager
