Job Description

The Food Science Associate plays a crucial role in innovating, researching, and developing nutraceutical products from agricultural ingredients. This position is integral to advancing sustainability and growth within the Nutraceutical Industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  1.  Product Development: Collaborates with the nutraceutical team to create new products, involving research, experiment design, and formulation optimization to enhance product efficacy and consumer acceptance.
  2. Ingredient Sourcing and Evaluation: Identifies and evaluates agricultural ingredients for their nutraceutical potential, assessing nutritional value, safety, and sustainability, and maintains a detailed ingredient database.
  3. Process Optimization: Develops and optimizes manufacturing processes to maximize product quality and efficiency while ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory standards.
  4. Quality Control and Assurance: Implements quality control protocols to maintain product integrity, conducting assessments and tests throughout the production cycle.
  5. Regulatory Compliance: Keeps abreast of food production regulations to ensure all products meet legal standards, prepares regulatory submissions, and manages product registrations.
  6. Market Research and Analysis: Conducts market research to understand trends and consumer preferences, using insights to inform product strategies and marketing.
  7. Collaboration and Networking: Builds and maintains partnerships with suppliers, researchers, and industry stakeholders to support innovation and ensure active participation in industry events.
  8. Documentation and Reporting: Maintains thorough documentation of all research findings and project details, and prepares comprehensive reports for internal use.
  9. Project Management: Manages project timelines and resources, ensuring efficient progress and timely completion of objectives.
  10. Innovation and Collaboration: Engages with startups and entrepreneurs at the incubation center to foster innovation and commercialization of new solutions.

Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutritional Science, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of food chemistry, microbiology, and processing.
  • Experience in nutraceutical product development and familiarity with regulatory standards.
  • Excellent analytical, project management, and communication skills.
  • Passion for health, wellness, and sustainable food solutions.

This role requires a combination of technical expertise and creative thinking to drive innovation in the nutraceutical industry, aiming to deliver high-quality, health-promoting products to consumers.
