Job Description

Watoto Church and Child Care Ministries have experienced exponential growth in the past couple of years composed of multiple Celebration Centers (Campuses) and diverse Community care initiatives that include Childcare, Community and Neighborhood, Education and FM Radio amongst others. In all of this, Watoto remains a local church, committed to celebrating Christ and caring for community.

Watoto is seeking to recruit a Medical Officer to provide medical care and consultation services across the Watoto medical centers.

Key Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to).

1. Provision of clinical services to Watoto village clinics.

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based clinical services tailored to the needs of Watoto childcare clients.
• Deliver patient-centered care, prioritization of examinations, diagnoses, treatment, and emergency response.
• Coordinate referrals, review patient information, and follow up with specialists for
• feedback and management plans.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, adhering to Watoto Medical Services and Ministry of Health guidelines.
• Contribute to policy development and guideline creation for standardized care.
• Actively contribute to monthly village meetings, weekly clinic meetings, and team meetings, and assist the Clinic Coordinator with strategic planning and development.

2. Education, Teaching and Mentorship.

• Maintain knowledge and skills through regular training and education.
• Evaluate clinical staff’s knowledge and practice gaps and develop tailored education and

• Support cross-departmental staff training and education on health topics.

• Engage in health promotion initiatives, such as health education and immunizations, as coordinated by Watoto Medical Services.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience.

• The applicant for the role should hold at least a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery.
• Master’s degree in public health is an added advantage.

‘ A minimum of 2 vears’ post internship work experience in a clinical role

Practicing License (APL) from Uganda Medical & Dental Practitioners’

• Possess clinical expertise, good communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Possess Adaptability and Flexibility.

• A team player, result oriented, self – motivated, able to work with minimum supervision.
• Willingness to regularly travel and work in hard-to-reach areas.
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural setting.
