Job Description

DEPARTMENT: SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Responsible for proper freight contract management and implementation while following Company guidelines and policies
  2. Coordinate with forwarding and clearing agencies to ensure timely delivery of all shipments
  3. Evaluate clearing agents and forwarders’ performance in terms of delivery timelines and reliability
  4. Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, packing materials, intermediates, and finished goods
  5. Optimize stock levels to ensure availability while minimizing carrying costs and expiry risks
  6. Work with the Procurement Team to ensure timely ordering of raw materials and packaging materials.
  7. Create and update Production schedules based on capacity, material availability, and customer requirements
  8. Coordinate with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Engineering Teams to avoid delays
  9. Provide insights for continuous improvement of planning and logistics strategies
  10. Track KPls such as inventory turnover, service levels, and order fulfilment rates
  11. Use SAP to analyze data and generate reports
  12. Act as a key link between Supply Chain and other departments
  13. Participate in S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) meetings

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics, Logistics and Transportation, Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, Science Technology, or any other related field;
    Membership to the Institute of Procurement Professionals of Uganda (IPPU) or Pharmaceutical Society of Uganda
    (PSU) is an added advantage
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing setup
  • Excellent communication, leadership and supervisory skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Commitment to quality and continuous improvement
  • Ability to create clear, concise, and accurate documents/reports
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Understanding and adhering to relevant standards and regulations
  • Detail oriented and with excellent analytical
  • Self-started, flexible and able to work well under pressure
  • Computer knowledge (proficiency in MS office)
