Job Description
The Quality control Officer is responsible for examining and maintaining the quality of fish feed right from raw material inception throughout the manufacturing process to ensure compliance with industry, legal and safety standards
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality inspection
▪ Conduct regular inspection of raw materials, production processes and finished products.
▪ Monitor the quality of ingredients used in fish feed production.
▪ Ensure compliance with hygiene standards and sanitation procedures within the factory.
Quality control
▪ Conduct routine laboratory tests on raw materials, in-process and finished products to ensure they meet the specifications
▪ Routine calibration and maintenance of Laboratory equipment
Process control
▪ Ensure that fish feed is being produced within the defined quality parameters
▪ Monitor production processes for adherence to standard operating procedures
▪ Liaise with production staff to rectify any quality nonconformance that arises during production
Regulatory compliance and support
▪ Ensure that all products comply with local and international standards
▪ Ensure compliance with health safety and environment standards in all quality control activities ▪ Train production staff in good manufacturing practices (GMPs), good hygiene practices (GHPs) and other quality standards and procedures
Nonconformity handling
▪ Identify root causes for quality non-conformities and provide corrective and preventive actions for product or process improvement
▪ Assist in implementation of process improvements and quality management systems
Documentation and reporting
▪ Maintain accurate records of inspection, Laboratory testing and internal audits on raw materials, finished product and processes
▪ Prepare quality control reports highlighting non-conformities and corrective actions taken
▪ Ensure traceability and proper documentation of all product recalls
What do we ask of you?
Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Laboratory Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or related field.
* Computer literacy and Experience with laboratory Information Systems
* Strong Analytical Judgement
* Minimum 2+ years of work experience
